Manager Chemistry Production
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager Chemistry Production will be responsible for managing the day to day business for chemistry production (appr. 90 employees) located in Berlin, Germany. The position will interface with order management, logistics, EHS and quality to plan and deliver in respect to our requirements (+QDIP) to meet global customer demand. The position will also be responsible for managing and developing associates, implementing new products, technologies and processes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure the safe and compliant day to day business of chemistry production Berlin
Collaborate with internal business partners to schedule manufacturing activities necessary to meet our goals
Develop and mentor associates to build a high performing team
Quarterly Performance Reviews with direct reports
Model and encourage innovation and risk taking through daily actions with the team
Provide problem solving and decision making guidance to the team
Develop / Maintain KPI´s and generate monthly performance reports
CRITICAL COMPETENCIES
Ability to quickly establish significant credibility, trust and support with all levels of the organization incl. peers, subordinates and senior management.
Demonstrates experience developing / managing manufacturing departments and leading technical teams for day to day execution of production activities.
Strong financial acumen; capable of planning and providing oversight for department budget.
Proven track record of leading initiatives for implementation of capital projects and or product / process improvements.
Ability to manage resources, priorities and schedules for on time delivery of Operations projects.
Self-motivated with a strong desire to drive for / deliver results.
Problem solving - The ability to find and implement solutions to complex problems.
Dynamic, organized and pro-active approach.
Persuasion and influencing skills.
Flexible and able to prioritize competing issues.
Effective time management skills.
Background in chemistry or pharmaceutics is highly desirable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Industrial Engineering Master Degree; studies in Chemistry or Pharmaceutics are beneficial
5-8 years of operations experience required
Proven leadership skills
Experience in Project Management methodology and processes
Standard MS Office
German and English language skills required
Travel limited to 5%
